What is Coronavirus?

Coronavirus also known as (COVID-19) is a new illness which affects the respiratory system. The illness is caused from the virus Coronavirus and is said to be spread through cough droplets. 

It is important to stay at home for 7 days if you display any symptoms of Coronavirus. These include:

  • A high temperature (fever) -  you feel hot to touch on your chest and/or back. 
  • A new, continuous cough. This means you have started coughing repeatedly.

It is recommended that Coronavirus is treated at home. The 111 Coronavirus Service is an online tool that can help identify symptoms and give advice on what to do with your symptoms. Only call NHS 111 if you are unable to access online services.
