What to expect at a sexual health advice clinic?


There will usually be a two part questionnaire to gather information about your sexual history and a clinical examination if the clinician feels necessary. Most clinics you don’t have to book an appointment as they operate a walk in clinic.


In the questionnaire they are likely to ask you;

  1. If you have had unprotected sex.


  1. What your symptoms are (if any).


  1. If you think you might have a sexually transmitted infection.


  1. When your last period was, if you  have a uterus and think you might be pregnant


  1. When you last had sex.


In the examination the medical professional will ask to look at the problem area. Don’t be nervous or embarrassed they see lots of people in everyday with various problems. They will not judge you.
