What are Mitigating Circumstances?

Mitigating circumstances are any serious situations that are beyond your control which may have affected your academic performance.

The University defines mitigating circumstances as; "exceptional, short-term events which are
outside the student’s control and impact their ability to prepare for, submit or present
themselves for an assessment by the given deadline."
