In cases of Other Academic Misconduct no mark is assigned to the piece of work in question.

The Quality Manager (Quality Assurance and Enhancement Department) will inform you in writing of the allegation and shall undertake a preliminary investigation, which may involve interviewing you as well as any witnesses.

Following this preliminary investigation the Quality Manager shall make one of the following determinations (normally within 15 working days of receipt of the allegation):

i. that there is no case of academic misconduct, in which case the student will be advised in writing and no further action shall be taken;

ii. that there is a case of academic misconduct, in which case the student shall be advised in writing and the matter shall be referred for a hearing by the Academic Misconduct Panel.

There is no right of appeal against the Quality Manager’s determination.
