What happens at an Academic Misconduct Panel?

You will have the right to be present throughout the hearing in order to hear all of the evidence presented, however, your absence will not prevent the hearing from taking place, nor invalidate the proceedings.

The panel shall determine the rules for the conduct of the hearing, but must provide the opportunity for you to respond to all evidence submitted, to put questions to all witnesses present, and to make a closing statement.

The panel shall consider its findings in private. The panel shall determine, on the balance of probabilities, whether or not an offence has been committed and, if it has, the sanction to be imposed.
